Unification and modernization potential of Kazakhs

Research topic: Foresight research "The unifying and modernization potential of Kazakhs".

Research goal. Determination of the unifying and modernization potential of the Kazakhs, forecasting and development of recommendations for the development of the potential of the Kazakh part of the population as a consolidating core.

Research object. Kazakh part of the population.

Research subject. Measures to develop the potential of the Kazakh ethnic group as a consolidating core.

Tasks:

• develop measures to build a constructive dialogue with citizens, based on the unifying and modernization potential of the Kazakh people;
• determine the Kazakhs' vision of their mission, place and role in modern Kazakhstani society;
• to develop recommendations on measures that form the integrity and common civic identity;
• identify measures to develop the potential of the Kazakh ethnic group as a consolidating core;
• to prepare methodological recommendations for civil servants on work with the population;
• to develop conceptual approaches in the work on strengthening interethnic harmony;
• develop mechanisms for public participation in the decision-making process.

Methods:

In the study of the unifying and modernization potential of the Kazakhs, the following qualitative research methods were used:

1. Focus group discussions;
2. Expert survey.

Study sample.

Focus groups were held in six regions of Kazakhstan. When organizing the focus groups, the following was taken into account: the urban and regional significance of the settlement; in the choice of districts, not administrative divisions were highlighted, but regional features, linguistic environment, monoethnic Kazakh population structure. Focus groups in the regions were held in the city and the regional center.
