Goal. Determine the information agenda and the role of the media in maintaining public consensus in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Research method.
To achieve the goal and objectives of the study, the method of content analysis was applied in the work, i.e. qualitative and quantitative content analysis.
The agenda was analyzed over the past 10 months (from February to November 2020) based on data from traditional media - a television channel and information portals.
Content analysis of media and social networks covers retrospective analysis, which consists in monitoring media over the past period. Thus, the study covers the period from November 2019 to November 2020.
Research sample.
The selection of media and information sources, as well as social networks is due to the popularity of this content among the audience-recipients, users. The media monitoring consisted of two parts. In the first part, according to the technical specification of the research project, work was carried out to analyze the information agenda. In the second part, the content analysis covered all media in Kazakh and Russian languages and social networks.
The channels “Kazakhstan” and “24.kz” were selected to analyze the information agenda. Among the Internet portals, Nur.kz and tengrinews.kz, inform.kz were chosen. Since these information sources are the leading news agencies broadcasting throughout the country and implementing public procurement in the field of public policy coverage.
In addition to the Kazakh media and information portals, the basis for the analysis was made by such social networks as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Telegram, Vk.com.
