The Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research was founded by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 2, 2020 No. 262 “On the establishment of a limited liability partnership" Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research "and amendments and additions to some decisions of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
The Institute provides analytical, research and expert support for state policy in the field of interethnic relations.
The main tasks of the institute are:
- regular monitoring of the state and dynamics of social well-being of ethnic groups, social and political processes;
- study of the situation in the interethnic sphere, determination of predictive estimates and risks; study of the processes of ethno-demographic and ethnoeconomic development;
- scientific and methodological support of interethnic policy for the formation of an integrated early warning system for interethnic tension and conflicts;
- systematization and coordination of research and scientific and methodological work;
- ensuring consistency and continuity, the formation of unified approaches in complex analytical and forecasting activities in the field of interethnic relations.
